Don't worry, we're alive

Icaros Desktop 1.5.2 has been released some months ago and, since then, I've not published any update. To say the truth, mainstream ABIv0 AROS system files haven't changed so much in the meanwhile, so there is no need for updating them. Some new amazing programs have been released (among the others: AntiryadGX, a great piece of software for anyone who would like to code a game), but Icaros users can easily download and install them by themselves. So, what is the meaning of this post? Obviously, to inform about some ongoing works on the distribution. First of all: the next release won't happen so much soon, but everyone involved is heavily working on it. As many of you already know, Deadwood is doing a huge overhaul on ABIv0 AROS files, backporting from ABIv1 everything that won't break compatibility with current AROS applications. He's been working on this project for many months, and Icaros beta testers already had the chance to see the new system files in action. Another great enhancement over current Icaros version will be, obviously, the inclusion of DirectoryOpus 5 "Magellan": it won't be a file manager only, but it will even be usable as complete desktop replacement for Wanderer (Icaros Desktop will allow choosing between the two with a prefs program). I've already cooked a Icaros ISO booting straight to Magellan instead of Wanderer, but while optimist and easy-to-please people may feel it amazing as is, I think there are still some glitches that should be fixed before a public release. Szilard Biro's efforts on Magellan are great, and I am trying to report all the bugs I find to help him, while trying to configure Dopus 5 in a proper "Icarish" way. It won't be tomorrow, but next Icaros will surprise you. Promised.
